Founded in 1816 by Eliphalet Remington II, who believed he could build a better gun than he could buy. It is the oldest company in the United States that still makes its original product and is the oldest continuously operating manufacturer in North America. Remington manufactured approximately 7,000 Model 1861 Navy revolvers a.k.a. Old Model Navy around 1862.

This example of a Remington Model 1861 Navy Revolver is .36 caliber percussion. The metal is bright and turning grey. Strong secondary inspector initials and strong cartouche to left grip. Original grips. Minor pitting to the backstrap and a small dent in the front of the trigger guard. Serial number 15379. Very Good condition. Please contact us to purchase.
